Pontiac Trans Am Y82 Special Edition

Up for sale  matching numbers 1977 Pontiac Trans Am Y82 Special Edition , this car is in super nice restored condition  highly  desirable  combo black & gold / Black  Lombardy  deluxe interior , here is some history and highlights on this fabulous TA:

 

The car was delivered new to Orsen Coe Pontiac in Grand Rapids, MI.  I do not know who purchased the car first, but I purchased the car from another dealer in Grand Rapids on August 22, 1980 with around 20,000 miles.  When I purchased it, the car was undercoated, the undercarriage and wheel wells were also coated and is all still there. 1977 S/E TransAm 60,984 miles.  2w87z7N vin Y82 car, Hurst hatch first design T-Tops, I have original build sheet from behind the back seat.  Original cloth interior on a scale of 1-10 I give it an 8 1/2, AM/FM with console 8 track (not hooked up), AM/FM cd player installed in glove box with all new infinity speakers, 2-6x9 under package tray, 2-4 inch rounds in center dash speaker area, Factory tinted power windows, Tilt steering, Rear defroster, Cruise control, Factory ratchet shifter (from 1979 car) I have original shifter also, New carpet.

 

EXTERIOR

All original body panels

8 years ago, body professionally stripped to bare metal

Found small rust at lower rear quarters, metal patches welded in

Body sealed blocked, primed blocked, prepped for paint

Five coats starlight black

8 coats of clear applied 4 coats blocked 4 more coats of clear then wet sanded

2 show finish

Phoenix graphics complete eagle, and stripe kit layed out

All new door, truck, hood, T-Top seals etc. replaced

Door glass replaced with PPG green tint matching glass

Trunk mat replaced, has original spare and jack

Original wheels, professionally restored by Keystone Automotive soda blasted clean, powder coated, inside and out with correct color, machined face of rim then powder cleared wheels

Front tires: 225/70/15 Hoosier radials

Back tires: 275/60/15 Hoosier radials

 

ENGINE

Numbers matching engine

At 50,000 miles motor disassembled block checked and line honed, new cam bearings and freeze plugs pressed in, crank shaft cleaned, polished, and checked over

New rings, rod bearings and main bearings

Original heads ported and checked over

268H comp cam and lifters installed

Edelbrock performer intake, 750 carb and valve covers

K&N extreme air filter assembly in shaker

Headers with duel exhaust and chrome tips

I have all original parts from the engine build

4 core radiator with new GM hoses

Runs very strong and reliable

 TRANSMISSION

Numbers matching 350 automatic

2800 stall converter- I have original converter

Speedometer conversion adapter for 3:73 gear change to correct speedometer

New speedometer cables

 REAR-END

Numbers matching 10 bolt

3:73 gears installed , I have original 2:41 gears
