UP for sale this exceptional matching numbers 1977 trans am Special Edition Y82code , automatic transmission.

History: This Trans Am was originally purchased by a soldier in North Carolina in 1977 then kept in his family until 1998 when his cousin acquired it and brought it to Michigan. The TA was driven one year in the spring and summer before it was privately offered to me in 1999. I placed it in storage with the dream of restoring but time got the best of me until 2010 which marked the beginning of this project. Two and a half years and tens of thousands of dollars later brought me to this final stage of completion. It is being offered for sale now for the first time to the general public for considerably less than I have invested in it. My loss is your gain.

Body and Paint: The entire car was disassembled and taken down to bare metal. The bottom side of the car was blasted by hand with fine silica sand and refinished to an era correct primer with additional hardener added to give it strength. The car was repainted and then reassembled using all new fasteners, weather stripping, seals, bushings, glass, moldings and whatever was necessary to correctly preserve this TA. The entire car was wet sanded and buffed to give it a mirror like paint finish. The depth and shine of the paint is deep. Take your time looking at the pictures shown below .

Decals: the decals are GM the pre-molded pattern to duplicate the factory placement correctly.

Sub-frame and suspension: The entire suspension and sub-frame was powder coated the correct color and finish to insure strength and long lasting appearance for years to come. All of the suspension components are new and every clip, fuel line, brake line, etc. is new and in stainless steel where available. Just look at the pictures and you will see the detail that went into it.

Engine and Transmission: This engine and transmission are the original correct NUMBERS MATCHING to the vin.# of this car. The engine was completely torn down and rebuilt 30 over using high quality internals and a Pontiac spec Ram Air III cam to give it some addition power and torque. The transmission was also rebuilt and refinished to original GM color specs. The motor is super smooth with a great exhaust note through a new Gardner dual exhaust system. It sounds like a true Pontiac ground pounder.

Engine Compartment: The entire engine compartment is like new with every part either new or professionally refinished. The brake booster and master cylinder are new along with the entire A/C system. Take your time viewing this complex correct assembly.

Interior: The interior received new door panels, front and rear seat foam and covers, new carpet, new headliner, package tray, floor mats, etc. to return it back to original specs. The car has its original steering wheel with GM factory gold anodizing. It is not perfect but it is the steering wheel which came with the car. Both door panels received new interior window sweeps and weather strip seals. The dash is original without any cracks but does have some slight waving in the middle.

Wheels: The wheels are the original 1977 SE 7” snowflake style and have been professionally restored and wrapped in B.F. Goodrich Radial TA’s .

Documentation: car comes with the original build sheet, PHS papers and thousands of dollars in receipts which will accompany the vehicle at sale. THIS IS A REAL Y82 SE TRANS AM AS DESIGNATED IN PHS PAPERS AND BUILD SHEET.
