 Motor: 455 Cubic Inch 4 Barrel Carb      Turbo Hydramatic Transmission

        Notes: This car has been off the street since 1988.    At that time it had 114,072 original miles on it.

                  My family has been the sole owner of the car since it was purchased in 1972.    This car has never been in an accident.

                  The original motor has been rebuilt keeping all serial numbers original. It has been bored approx. .020 oversize, to accommodate the new rings and pistons for the rebuilt motor. The Turbo Hydramatic Transmission was also completely rebuilt using the original casings and shafts. This car was only driven from the rebuild shop to my home adding approximately 7 miles on it, to its current odometer reading of 114,079 miles.

                  You are welcome to look over the rebuild invoice that I have. Some of the parts replaced to upgrade the engine to a more current status are……

                   New double roller timing gears, camshaft with matching lifters, springs, retainers and completely rebuilt original carburetor . New front springs, shocks, new idler and pitman arms and bushings on the front end. New brake pads front and rear, new front disc rotors, rear drums turned and checked. All hoses replaced, radiator rebuilt. Basically the only thing in the engine compartment that was not replaced was the power booster for the brake system. (But that was replaced new in 1985 when the brakes were overhauled back then)

                    The car has power windows, power brakes, air conditioning and the upgraded interior for the Trans Am, a very rare find. The car has original paint! This was the last thing I wanted to do. It has all the plastic air dams. I even have started to replace the old ones with new ones, and have all the final pieces. Shaker hood, Firebird emblem on the hood.

                     The interior is black, original chrome polished finish on the gauge set. It has an 8 track tape player, after all it is a 1973. I also added a later model cassette player in the original radios mounting holes. The seats are in great condition for a car 38 years old, you will be surprised that only a couple seams need to be re-sewed on the drivers/passenger center seat bottoms. The top hat package is a factory replacement for the original, and the rear deck has never seen the sunlight.

                      The wheels are Flowered 8 inch American Mags (US) with Dunlop 50 series tires  on them. These have been on the car for about 25 years and have to be replaced, they have flat spots from sitting so long, but they are a great theft deterrent. I also have the original rims for 3 wheels with the original Firestone wide ovals still on them. Sorry, I loaned the last pair of the original rims to a friend in need, and he was killed in an accident before he could return them. But ..I have ALL the chrome beauty rims for all 4 wheels with Firebird Centers for an original factory set look.

                       Included  new carpet set, in black, from the factory ready to be installed, the original carpets are OK with no holes or tears if you choose to keep it . The dash is in excellent shape only one small crack.  The car also has a new exhaust set, original, except pipe sizing, which is larger and Flow Master Mufflers have been added. Tail pipe finish is stock. No, I did not put headers on it because it did not come from the factory that way. But…You should hear this motor, with only 7 miles on it you can hear the reason the headers would not add anything to the sound….When was the last time you heard a 455 inch motor fire up new.

            The wiring, tubes and wraps are all original, and nothing has been changed from stock over the whole engine and car. Everything remains in exactly the same place it was from the factory. 

           There are a few things more, but I will tell you that if you come bye and see the car. To add to the deal, since I was looking forward to completing this myself, I will give you my original Trans Am Jackets, belt buckle and T shirts. Almost never worn……

lease call ahead a day or so, I have to wipe some dust of the car. Bye the way, the battery is a new Dry Cell, so it will just fire right up. Red of course, to match the car.
