1978 W72 SE Tribute

We found this project for Tobias, he wanted a 1978 TA , w72 with rare hurst t tops ( only few 78's had hurst, they mostly came with fishers)

almost done with body, all lines corrected, will have it ready for paint soon

tipical rust that almost al trans ams develop on corners of top dash panels being repaired

Front glass is brand new, old one was cracked

brakes in the car has to be all redone since they were too old, Power booster , master cylinder an all lines must be replaced, see photo of progress, also A/C box was refinished and reinstalled

new headliner will be installed today

new PVC padded headliner being installed, will last for decades, better than cardboard padded used by GM in 78

engine will be drop in soon

the drivers side taillight has a crack, I suggest to replace with a good one

reverse section has crack lines

working on interior , new package tray where the speakers will be placed

tremek tranny and many other new parts to be installed

repair subframe, both rear pieces were removed

new part just welded

new section of floor also repaired, this will guarantee it will hold the stress of new poweful engine

under carriage now looks clean, we are refinish under side we gave first coat of black

tomorrow will begin transmission install and possible drop in engine this week!

we are also installing GM restoration parts like this zinc plated power booster

we thought that was important to have a new gas tank and new lines, the old ones can cause many troubles, sludge, dirt and rust no good for al new drive train, see bran new tank and new sending unit being installed\

new 245/60 15 tires with restored snowflake rims ready

custom drive shaft was ordered from Keysler Engineering

new 4 core radiator to ensure no overheating.

new fan and new fan clutch

seats, brand new carpet, interior plastic panels , radio and gauges almost done!

INTERIOR TRIMS CLEANED AND/OR REFINISHED

GOLD SPECIAL EDITION DASH BEZEL INSTALLED, WASH PROFESSIONALLY RE FINISHED IN FACTORY GOLD

SHIFTER HURST STYLE INSTALLED

BRAND NEW MANUAL STICK SHIFT CENTER CONSOLE
